In recent decades, domestic production of hemp has declined drastically, despite the fact that we used to have world-class fibre production, with 23,000 hectares sown and high yields of 25%. The processing industry also boomed, with 9 factories and several garment companies using hemp raw materials.  <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hemp&#8217;s versatility has led to a growing demand for it worldwide. The construction, paper, clothing, textile, food and pharmaceutical industries all use it in large quantities. Its seeds are highly nutritious and rich in oils and proteins, making it an important raw material for the food and feed industries. Its fibre is also used as a base material for furniture and as an insulating material, while its straw is used to make masonry and cladding panels. Hemp is an environmentally friendly and biodegradable raw material, which is becoming an increasingly important consideration in the construction industry due to stricter carbon quotas and house certification regulations. In Hungary, some farmers continue to grow hemp. It produces reasonable yields even on poor soils and the plant&#8217;s rapid growth means that few pesticides are needed.      <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their example shows that hemp farming can be profitable and sustainable in Hungary in the long term. Growing the crop is not only economically beneficial, but also ecologically beneficial, as it can contribute to a greener future.
